La embarcaci\u00f3n que llevaba a los expedicionarios, ansiosos por descubrir lugares desconocidos para los navegantes de la \u00e9poca, y a cuya tripulaci\u00f3n se sum\u00f3 el famoso naturalista, dio nombre al canal en el que, casi doscientos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, penetraba nuestra embarcaci\u00f3n en medio de la noche, dando comienzo a doce horas de lenta navegaci\u00f3n que nos permitieron apreciar el majestuoso paisaje. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando el d\u00eda empezaba a aclararse, pudimos observar el color anaranjado del cielo entre las nubes y las siluetas de las monta\u00f1as. Con el paso de las horas, este comenz\u00f3 a despejarse. Transcurr\u00eda el mes de marzo y en las monta\u00f1as empezaban a caer las primeras nieves. Era una hermosa imagen en la que se mezclaban m\u00faltiples colores: verde, marr\u00f3n y blanco. El agua estaba en calma y parec\u00eda un espejo. Esta quietud permit\u00eda apreciar grupos de delfines oscuros marsopeando, soplos de ballenas sei a la distancia, que mostraban sus lomos y sus aletas dorsales, y peque\u00f1os grupos de ping\u00fcinos de Magallanes navegando. Al aproximarse la tarde, el cielo volv\u00eda a nublarse y se oscurec\u00eda, lo que imped\u00eda ver la puesta de sol. Pero entre las nubes aparec\u00edan los \u00faltimos rayos solares. En la distancia navegaba un peque\u00f1o velero m\u00e1s cerca de la costa. La oscuridad se hac\u00eda cada vez m\u00e1s presente y comenzaban a distinguirse las luces del puerto de Ushuaia. Mientras el barco se aproximaba al puerto, apareci\u00f3 un ejemplar juvenil de ballena jorobada navegando junto a \u00e9l y, antes de llegar a nuestro destino, se despidi\u00f3 mostrando su aleta caudal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"
